07 OCTOBER Guadalajara - 1st DAY – Wednesday

Arrival in the afternoon and early evening

Reception at the airport Guadalajara Miguel Hidalgo for transfer to the Hotel

Arrival at Hotel NH Collection

After you have checked in and rested, you are invited to a

7:00 – 9:00 PM      Welcome Dinner Buffet of traditional Mexican dishes.  There will be musical entertainment.

08 OCTOBER -               2nd DAY – Thursday

7:00 - 9:00 AM Buffet breakfast in the hotel in the area dedicated to LOA

8:00 - 11:30  Orthopaedic Surgeons Scientific Session with coffee break

9:15 - 10:00  Flames will have a meeting in one of the lounges where we will give a brief explanation illustrating the features of our beautiful city and the activities that we will experience during your stay. 

10:00 Flames meet in the hotel lobby to go to Tlaquepaque, a historic center of handicrafts. The center is one of the largest in the state of Jalisco and of Mexico. The Center is known for the development and crafts of blown glass, paper Mache, leather goods and ceramics. You can devote your time to wander the wonderful shops and the artisan village while awaiting the arrival of the rest of the group.  

12:00  End the scientific workday and Physicians will meet in the hotel lobby to    board bus to go out and meet rest of the group in Tlaquepaque.

13:00-15:00  Arrive in Tlaquepaque for a delicious lunch at Casa Fuerte Restaurant. 

15:00-16:00 Free time for shopping

16:00  Return to the hotel for a rest, leisure

18:45   Meet in the hotel lobby to go to the restaurant La Estancia Gaucha located near our hotel. Don’t worry, not a long bus ride, you can stumble right outside the hotel lobby door

09 OCTOBER third Day - Friday  

7:00 9:00 AM  Buffet breakfast in the hotel in the area dedicated. 

8:00-11:30A  Orthopaedic Surgeons Scientific Sessions with coffee break

10:00 AM Flames meet at the hotel lobby to go to the center of the city of Guadalajara to visit the famous bazaar market of San Juan de Dios and also the Jewelry Center.

12:00  Arrival of Physicians to Sacro Monte Restaurant for lunch, joining the group

13:00  We will start our tour with a visit to the Cabañas Cultural Institute, better known as the Hospicio Cabañas. UNESCO declared the site a World Heritage Site in 1997. This neoclassical building houses murals of world famous Clemente Orozco. We continue our tour in traditional calandrias, typical of the city. We will take a panoramic tour of the most important monuments of historic downtown such as the Cathedral, the Government Palace, the Columns of Illustrious Men, the Teatro Degollado, Plaza de Armas, Plaza de la Liberation.  It will be for you an experience that evokes the feeling that Guadalajara is the “Pearl of the West”, a majestic city of the eighteenth century colonial era.

17:00  Group meets at the entrance of Hospicio Cabañas to return to the hotel.

18:30   Meet in Lobby—board bus for short ride to PEPE AND PATY’S CITY HOME, modern and tastefully decorated by Paty. We will enjoy their wonderful Mexican hospitality and enjoy a “TAQUIZA”—an array of various tacos.

Recommendations: Dress casually preferably jeans - tennis and camera—for the day. For their home smart casual.

 10 October fourth Day - Saturday

7:00—9:00 AM Buffet breakfast in the hotel in the area dedicated. 

Hold LOA Business meeting in conjunction with breakfast           

9:30  All participants meet in the lobby.

Today is the day we visit the world famous town of TEQUILA.   It is 70 km or one hour travel time from the city of Guadalajara. We will visit "Casa Cuervo" which is the most famous distillery for the production of Tequila. It was the first in America and which you can explore on your visit. You will learn the process of making tequila, possibly stripping the agave cactus leaves from the harvested pineapple, and tour the whole plant. We will see stunning gardens and a beautiful hacienda, and of course enjoy a margarita or two made ​​with tequila Jose Cuervo.

We will be treated to an elaborate and educational tequila tasting. Then you are free to buy different products. 

13:00—16:00   Lunch with entertainment in garden area

17:00 Departure for return to Guadalajara,

18:00  Arrival at hotel --Collapse into bed--lite supper on your own

     Recommendations: Dress casual-- levis preference - comfortable walking shoes

11 OCTOBER fifth Day - Sunday  

7:00 to 9:30 Buffet breakfast in the hotel in the area dedicated. 

10:00  All participants meet in the lobby prepared to leave for Rancho El Rocio in

Tlajomulco, property of Santoscoy Carrillo family where the family will offer a wonderful day in contact with nature. You will enjoy family cooked meals of traditional dishes of the State of Jalisco. During the stay in this wonderful ranch, we will have activities like a cooking class dedicated to the development of “Tamales" a typical dish made ​​with “maize”

You will be surprised with other amenities and activities that will liven this day

17:00   Continuing with our surprise activities, we will have a show of folkloric ballet dances   of our country. At the end of the day, there will be hot chocolate, “your tamales” and   special dessert treats.

19:00  Group returns to Guadalajara.

Free Dinner, if you must--the Sao Plaza has several places where something lite can be consumed.      

12 OCTOBER sixth Day   Monday  

07:00 to 9:00     Buffet breakfast in the hotel in the area dedicated.   

09:30    Meet in the lobby.  All participants to exit for the destination of the famous "Lake Chapala" distant from the city of Guadalajara 50 km 45 minutes travel time.  

Originally, Chapala or Chapa lingo was a pre-Hispanic settlement of ancient times founded in the twelfth century AD, when a migration of tribes of Nahuatl originally from the northwest, touched these latitudes. Lake Chapala offers visitors boating, horseback riding through the town, the Lighthouse, the Malecon, and the Church of San Francisco. In addition, there is the adjacent artist village of Ajijic.  We will enjoy an unforgettable day at Mount Coxala SPA Boutique Hotel located in San Juan Cosalá, another area of Lake Chapala. It overlooks the Lake Chapala and has thermal baths, spa treatments and wonderful views.

13:00     Lunch at the Hotel Monte Coxala of Mexican dishes enlivened with music and a surprise show

We will give you a tour of other areas of Lake La Floresta. We will stop for traditional donuts American style, we will go to the factory of traditional sweets Chapala  highlighting the tamarinda flavor, milk, Jamaica, myrtle and lemon, and continue to visit the Centro de Chapala.

17:00       Departure to return to Guadalajara arrival

18:45    Meeting at the hotel lobby to leave for the restaurant where we will go to our final dinner, possibly across the street from the hotel—LOS PLATOS.  

The 7th Day Tuesday. 13 OCTOBER. Conclusion of the LOA meeting, free shuttles to the airport to return home.
